What is a hackathon?
A hackathon is an event where people come together, break into teams, and develop cool technical projects in a limited amount of time.
Do we have to sleep overnight?
Nope! Participants are free to come and go as they please!
Will there be prizes?
Yes! There will be tons of prizes and swag!
What if I don’t have hackathon experience/know how to code/have a team?
She Innovates is a great first hackathon! Just come eager and willing to learn. Mentors will be on site to help guide you through the hacking process. The She Innovates kick-off party will feature team formation, idea pitching, and a Q&A session!
Should I bring my own computer?
It is recommended that you bring your own computer.
Can I use a project that I developed outside of the hackathon?
Submissions may not include any code that was written before the kickoff party.
Will there be food provided?
On Friday night, appetizers and desserts will be served. On Saturday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served. On Sunday, breakfast will be served.
Who can participate?
Any graduate or undergraduate college student. No experience required!

Teams will be working on the 3rd floor of the School of Information Sciences Building
What about intellectual property?
Students at the University of Pittsburgh own and retain all rights to their intellectual property.
